British Records fell as Loughborough swimmers dominated the pool on the second night of swimming at the World Trials. Liam Tancock opened the account with a blistering 100m backstroke to win the event and set a new British Record of 53.20. This was followed by a blistering display of power and speed from Fran Halsall who recorded 24.53 in the 50m freestyle to erase one of the longest standing British records on the books. Medals, finals placing, and personal best times were in abundance as the swimmers rode the wave of Loughborough FAST SWIMMING..... Further details will appear tomorrow; watch this space |
