Liam Tancock transferred his form from Barcelona to Canet, with a 2nd place finish in the 50m backstroke. His time of 25.34 was nearly 2 tenths faster than he swam in Barcelona. Lizzie Simmonds also produced a swift time of 29.50 to place 5th in the final.
This mornings heats produced some more fine swimming from Loughborough swimmers. Lizzie Simmonds goes into tonight's final as the fastest qualifier in the women's 200m back in a time of 2:12.38. Fran Halsall continued her impressive form by going into tonight's final of the women's 100m fly in a time of 58.58. Ross Davenport also continued his progression towards the world championships with a time of 1:49.22 to progress through to tonight's final.
Ben Hockin & Charlie Hockin competed in men's 200m free in times of 1:52.70 & 1:56.47 respectively. Grant Turner was the fastest Loughborough swimmer in the men's 50m free posting a time of 23.18 with Liam, Ben & Charlie Hockin posted times of 23.70, 24.12 & 24.79 respectively.
