Loughborough alumni produced a gold rush at the Brtiish Masters Championships held in Cardiff. Detective Constable Aimee Ramm, competing in the 25-29yrs category, completed a golden hat trick to take the 50m/100m freestyle and 100m butterfly titles while Katie Henderson lifted the 100m & 200m breaststroke titles. Natalie Effemey, also racing in the 25-29yrs age group produced winning swims in the 100m backstroke and 200m individual medley with Katie Henderson taking silver in the medley event to make it a Loughborough alumni 1-2. Justine Clarke, a Loughborough swimmer currently on scholarship at SMU in Dallas, Texas, won the 19-24yrs 100m & 200m freestyle events; her time of 2:08.75 in the latter being a new British Masters record. Justine went on to take silver in the 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly. Coach Sarah Brooksbank led by example when she sprinted to bronze in the 30-343yrs 50m breaststroke. Great to see these swimmers still flying the Loughborough Flag! |
