Loughborough University distance specialist, Daniel Fogg, placed 17th in the 10km Open Water race at the World Championships in Rome.
The race was won by Thomas Lurz (Germany), who also won the 5km the previous day, with USA taking silver and bronze.
Fogg has a preference for smooth water lake swimming and this 10km sea swim will have given him valuable experience.
The pool events begin on Sunday 26th July so watch out for more exciting action from Loughborough swimmers!
