| Davies Sets New British Record |

Loughborough's double Olympic medallist, David Davies, put in a superb performance to set a new British Record of 7:45.89 to qualify as 4th fastest for the final of the 800m freestyle at the World Championships. Joanne Jackson and Cailtin McClatchey also safely progressed to the semi finals of the womens 200m frestyle;Jo qualifying in 3rd fastest with 1:56.81 and Caitlin taking 9th spot in 1:57.4. Joe Roebuck set a new university record of 1:57.44 in the heats of the 200m butterfly but unfortunately this wasnt good enough to secure a semi final place. James Gibson was unable to capitalize on his record breaking form in the 100m breaststroke, crashing out of the heats of the 50m sprint with a disappointing 27.78 Loughborough swimmers will continue their run of success in Rome with Liam Tancock and Lizzie Simmonds going in tonights finals.
