In another day and night of fabulous swimming in Rome Loughborough swimmers were again at the fore of GB team performances. This evening, David Davies, took to the water in the men's 800m free final. The final produced a fantastic spectacle for the watching crowd with the World record being beaten by six seconds. David put in another valiant performance to finish in 5th place in a time of 7:44.32 to set another British record time, improving on the heat swim from yesterday morning. Joanne Jackson went into the final of the women's 200m free final with high expectations of another medal. She could cope with the pace of the eventual winner, Pellegrini, who set a new World record. Jo eventually finished in 4th place in another impressive time of 1:55.88. Joe Roebuck followed up this morning's 200IM swim with another sub two minute performance time in the semi final. His time of 1:59.82 placed him in 14th place overall. Keep following the Loughborough swimmers with many more swims to come over the remaining four days. |
