Loughborough swimmers are not only on fire in Rome but also here in Sheffield. This evening Ben Hockin added to the 100m free title he won earlier in the week by taking the 200m free final from lane 3. Ben led the race from the gun holding on to record an new personal best time of 1:48.06. In the same final Simon Churchman swam in his first ever National final finishing in another new personal best time of 1:53.13. Andy Donaldson competing for his home club Ren 96 produced a fantastic performance in the semi final of the 17/18 boys 200m free to reach tomorrow's final. Joe Canlan Shaw and James Lovatt reached the 50m final. They acquitted themselves finishing in 7th and 6th respectively. James just shaded it with a time of 27.09 to Joe's 27.21. Erin Jeffery went into the final of the women's open 200IM by setting a new personal best time of 2:20.73 in the morning heats. She smashed that this evening to go sub two twenty, recording a time of 2:18.74 to finish in 2nd place overall. Great night of swimming here tonight with many more swims to come on the final two days. |
