In the penultimate night of finals in Sheffield, the Loughborough swimmers produced another night of impressive swimming at the end of a very long season. Jade Barclay was the highlight of the evening taking 2nd place with a very gritty performance on the 200m fly. She battled her way through the field to finish in a time of 2:13.87. After winning both the 100 & 200 free Ben Hockin, changed stroke and swam the 100m fly. He cruised through the heat and produced a strong final performance for a non fly specialist. His time of 54.20 out him in third place overall. Emma White produced a fast morning heat of 2:39 in the women's 200 breast to progress through to her first ever national final. She acquitted herself finishing in 6th place in a time of 2:37.98. Other Loughborough swimmers competing last night included James Lovatt & Joe Canlan Shaw in the 200m back, Kirsty Armstrong in the 200m fly and Rachel Lefley in the 50m back. Keep an eye out for the results from the final day today. |
