| Yet Another British Record for Loughborough Swimmers |

Loughborough's Liam Tancock and James Gibson combined forces with Michael Rock(Stockport) and Simon Burnett(Arizona) to set a new British Record in the heats of the 4 x 100m medley team at the World Championships. The formidable quartet sliced over 3 seconds off the existing record to qualify as 7th fastest for tonight's final. Their split times were: Tancock 53.59, Gibson 59.11, Rock 51.71, Burnett 47.37 Tonight's concluding session sees Loughborough's Fran Halsall and Liam Tancock going in the finals 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke respectively. Tancock, the current World Record Holder, will be looking to outsprint his rivals and clinch a well earned victory. Double Olympic Medalliste, David Davies races in the final of the 1500m freestyle and should improve on his 7th place seeding. David has already made fnals of the 400m & 800m freestyle and was instrumental in getting the mens 4 x 200m freestyle team to the final. Get behind your amazing team for the final session!! Si!Si! |
