Last night in a sensational final session at the Stockholm, World Cup, Fran Halsall set a European and British record in the women's 100m free in a time of 51.61. She swam a storming race to lead from the start and never being headed throughout the race. She finished the evening by smashing the 100mIM British record, previously held by Loughborough swimmer, Lisa Chapman, finishing in third place in a time of 58.81
Lizzie Simmonds continued her rich vein of form by storming to second place in the women's 100 back. On Wednesday she had broken the European record in the 200m back. This time in the 100m back she finished in second place in a new British record time of 56.92.
After winning the 400mIM on Wednesday Joe Roebuck took on the great Michael Phelps in the 200IM. In a closely fought race Joe eventually finished in fourth place in a new personal best time of 1:54.67. Ross Davenport also produced a strong performance to finish sixth in the men's 200m free.
Liam Tancock and Joe Roebuck will now head back to compete at the BUCS Championships this weekend in Sheffield with the rest of the Loughborough swimmers now heading off to Berlin for the next leg of the World Cup.
