Loughborough University Swimming Team received the Team of the Year Trophy at the BBC East Midlands Sports Awards last night.

The prestigious ceremony, held at Loughborough University, attracted a huge number of sporting celebrities and showcased the fine sporting tradition that is Loughborough.

Loughborough Swimming received the award in recognition of their outstanding year of swimming which included numerous British Records, 4 World Records and a host of medals at the World Championships.

Ian Armiger (Director of Swimming) said " This award epitomizes the Loughborough culture of co operation, support and the pursuit of excellence. It's for all those involved in Loughborough University Sport."
