The European SC started this morning with a string of semi final and final qualification performances from Loughborough swimmers. Joe Roebuck started the morning off for Loughborough with a near personal best time of 1:55.12 in the men's 200m IM. He finished in eighth place to secure a place in this evenings final.
Rachel Lefley and Melanie Nocher went next in the women's 100m back. Rachel smashed her lifetime best to progress through to this evenings semi-final. Her time of 59.43 was nearly half a second off her previous best. Melanie Nocher also set a new lifetime best time of 1:00.35 missing out on this evenings semi's.
Laurent Carnol, left, (Luxembourg) & Michael Dawson, right, (Ireland) set new National senior and Junior records respectively in the men's 100m breaststroke. Laurent went 1:00.14 and Michael went 1:00.96.
Daniel Fogg swam the 400m free in a time of 3:58.38. Melanie Nocher took to the water again the women's 100m free setting a new lifetime best of 55.66.
