This morning's heats in Istanbul produced some more fast morning swimming from Loughborough swimmers. Rachel Lefley(pictured) led the charge with a new life time best time of 27.82 in the women's 50m back. Rachel surpassed this time when leading the 4 x 50m medley relay team off, this time setting a new faster time of 27.74. Also in the team were, Lowri Tynan, Louise Pate and Loughborough's Amy Smith who split the final free leg in a time of 24.62. The relay team finished in 11th place just outside the final placing.
After his efforts over the last two days, Joe Roebuck again stood on the block this morning in the heats of the 200m butterfly. Joe continues to produce great swims, this time finishing 6th overall in a time of 1:52.48.
Other Loughborough swimmers racing this morning were, Michael Dawson and Laurent Carnol in the men's 50m breast. They finished outside the qualification places in times of 28.40 and 28.54 respectively. Daniel Fogg also took to the pool for the second time this morning in the men's 1500m eventually finishing this challenging race in a time of 15:33.28.
Also swimming this weekend are many of our other team members. Swimmers have headed off to all parts of the UK this weekend to compete in round three of the National Swimming League.
Good luck to everyone in Istanbul and other venues around the country.
