Former British, European, Commonwealth and World Champion, James Gibson has been ruled out of competition for the rest of the season due to an ongoing back problem.

Despite undergoing surgery and a comprehensive rehabiltation period, a recent MRI scan has revealed continued complications.

From his Marseilles base, a disappointed James said " I will definitely not be racing the second of the Commonwealth Trials and it may be another 6 months before I can do anything hard in the pool"

James (pictured with Coach Roman Barnier) has enjoyed a tremendous career and has been a great ambassador for Loughborough Swimming; progressing from our Development Group to World Champion.
