| Simmonds Sets New Meet Record in Canet |

On the first night of the meet in Canet, Loughborough's Lizzie Simmonds returned from a quadricep injury that had limited her training in the pool for 7 days leading into the meet to set a new meet record in the 200m back in a swift time of 2:08.32. Fran Halsall continued the Loughborough success with 2nd place in the 50m free in an improved time of 24.92. Fran also took part in a very exciting 100m fly final where 15 one hundredths of second covered the finishers from 2nd-6th. Fran eventually touched in 6th place in 59.48.
Kate Haywood and Lowri Tynan improved on their performances in Barcelona by racing fast heats swims that comfortably progressed them through to the finals. Kate eventually finished 5th in 32.09 and Lowri 8th in 32.79. Kate and Lowri also came 6th and 8th respectively in the 100m breast finishing in 1:10.24 & 1:11.48.
Liam Tancock switched has switched events at this meet choosing to swim the 200m IM. After a strong heat swim Liam finished in 4th place in a strong field in a time of 2:02.79.
