Blue skies and sparkling water provided the perfect backdrop for Loughborough swimmers during the third leg of the Mare Nostrum Tour in Canet en Roussillon, South of France. World silver medallist, Francesca Halsall, built on her performances from the Barcelona leg to take gold in the 100m freestyle in 54.94 whilst teammate Lizzie Simmonds raced to silver in the 100m backstroke with 1:00.70. World Record Holder, Liam Tancock, had to be content with silver in the 50m backstroke; his time of 25.62 being a fraction slower than his Barcelona winning effort. This small group of swimmers now moves on to Rome for the next meet and will conclude their tour of racing in Paris. The Loughborough Fast Swimming Train keeps on rolling!! |
