Lizzie Simmonds added a silver medal to her collection on Day 4 of the European Championships in Budapest.

Building on her golden swim in the 200m backstroke, Lizzie tried to utilise her superior underwater technique to offset the power of arch rival Gemma Spofforth, but fell slightly short with a 1:00.19 to Gemma's 59.80.

A second European medal is a superb achievement for Lizzie and bodes well as we lead into the forthcoming Commonwealth Games.
