Loughborough's Kate Haywood, Francesca Halsall and Amy Smith joined forces with Gemma Spofforth (University Florida) to take the 4 x 100m Medley title at the European Championships.

Racing head to head with the Russian Team throughout the race the team touched fractionally behind at the finish but were upgraded to Gold after the Russian Team were disqualified for a faulty takeover.

Great team swimming from the impressive British quartet with split times of:

European Champions!!

The Men's 4 x 100m relay which finished in an impressive 4th spot featured our own double European medallist, Liam Tancock, who led off the team with 54.53

Joanne Jackson swam a tough race to finish 5th in the 400m freestyle in 4:09.14
