| More Euro Meet Records Fall to McClatchey & Smith |

Caitlin McClatchey and Amy Smith continued their record breaking spree during the final session of the Luxembourg Euro Meet. Caitlin opened the proceedings with an even paced 400m freestyle to take gold in a meet record of 4:09.77. Amy then utilised her superior technique and speed to take the 100m freestyle in an outstanding 54.78; Caitlin making it a Loughborough 1-2 by clinching silver in 55.79. Joe Roebuck narrowly missed out on gold in the 100m butterfly but his silver medal winning swim of 53.66 gave an indication of what's to come once rested. Laurent Carnol, fresh from his triumphant 200m breaststroke, sprinted to a silver in the 100m event with a 1:02.17. Both Laurent and Caitlin received Top Swimmer Awards at the meet.....impressive 750 euro watches! What a GREAT weekend of swimming from this small but select team! |
